He put his arms around you
And whispered, “Come to Me.”

Nothing seems the same,
But as God calls us one by one,

And memories lay a lane,
We could walk all the way to Heaven,
And take you back again.
Verse 44
A lovely heart stopped beating
As we watched you slip away,

As you fought so hard to stay.
God saw you getting tired
And a cure was not to be,
So he put his arms around you
And whispered, “Come with me.”
Verse 45
A Mother is a special gift,
One you think will stay,
You never dream the day will come
When she will be taken away.
If there is another life
And we are born once more,
We pray that God will give us
The mother we had before.
Baby Verse
Verse 46
Daddy don’t be sad,
Mummy please don’t cry,
Because I’m in the arms of Jesus and He sings me lullabies.
Verse 47
I often lie awake at night
When others are asleep,
I walk down memory lane
With tears upon my cheeks.
No one knows the heartache,
I try so hard to hide,
Some people say as time goes by
The heartache will subside,
But the feelings in my heart today,
Are the same as the day you died.
It broke my heart to lose you,
Your parting caused such pain,
But the greatest day has yet to come
When we will meet again.
Verse 48
I never fail to think of you,
I never fail to care,
I only wish I could come home
And find you sitting there.
I never thought of losing you
And maybe that was wrong
You always seemed a part of me
That would go on and on.
Verse 49
Memories are a keepsake
To treasure all life through,
But ours are very special Dad,
Because they are of you.
So you’ll never be forgotten
Not for a single day,
And your lovely happy character
Will never fade away.
Verse 50
We hold you close within our hearts
and there you will remain
To walk with us throughout our lives
until we meet again.
EXTENDED
So rest in peace (Person’s name)
And thanks for all you’ve done
We pray that God has given you,
The crown you’ve truly won.
Verse 51 A thousand words can't bring you back,
I know because I've tried,
neither will a million tears,
I know because I've cried.
My heart feels only sadness
when someone speaks your name,
Because I'll never hear your voice or see your face again,
But dearly I shall love you,
for heartache's have to end
I've lost you my dear Grandma,
I've lost my dearest friend.
The angels sang Amazing Grace,
the Lord came down and touched your face,
then He whispered sweet and low,
"Come wee (NAME) it's time to go".
Adieu sweet babe, short was thy stay,
just looked about then called away,
thy angel face we all did see,
but soon we were deprived of thee,
sleep on dear babe and take thy rest,
God taketh those he loveth best.
Verse 53
Those we love
Don’t go away,
They stay beside us everyday.
Unseen, unheard,
But always near,
Still loved, still missed
And very dear.
Verse 54
The hardest thing in life to bear,
Is want your Mother,
and she is not there.
So forgive us, Lord,
If we still weep,
For the one we loved
and wanted to keep.
So perhaps one day you’ll
tell us why,
You broke our hearts
and let her die.
Verse 55
Our lives go on without you,
Though nothing is the same,
We have to hide the heartache,
When someone speaks your name.
You did so many things for us,
Your heart was kind and true,
As long as we were happy,
You were happy too.
Verse 56
You’ve just walked on ahead of me
and I’ve got to understand,
You must release the one you love
and let go of their hand.
I try and cope the best I can,
But I’m missing you so much.
If I could only see you,
and once more feel your touch.
Yes you’ve just walked on ahead of me
Don’t worry I’ll be fine,
But now and then I swear I feel
your hand slip into mine.
Verse 57
It doesn’t take a special day
To bring you to our mind.
For days without a thought of you
are very hard to find.
You always tried to do your best
your hearts were true and tender.
You simply lived for those you loved,
And those you loved remember.
Verse 58
Happy smiling always content,
Loved and respected wherever he went
Always willing, helpful and kind,
What a beautiful memory he left behind
Close to our hearts he will always stay,
Loved and remembered every day.
So treasure him Lord in your Garden of rest, For the Father you gave us,
was simply the best.
Verse 59
Do not stand at my grave and weep
I am not here I do not sleep
I am a thousand winds that blow
I am the diamond glints on snow
I am the sunlight on ripened grain
I am the gentle autumn rain
When you wake up in the morning hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight
I am the soft stars that shine at night
Do not stand at my grave and cry
I am not here I did not die.
Verse 60
We thought of you with love today,
but that is nothing new.
We thought about you yesterday,
and the day before that too.
We think of you in silence,
we remember how you look.
Now all we have are memories and pictures in our book,
Your memory is our keepsake,
With which we’ll never part.
God has you in his keeping,
We have you in our hearts.
Verse 61
Safely home
We are home in Heaven,
Dear loved ones,
Oh so happy and so bright!
There is a perfect joy and beauty,
In this everlasting light.
All the pain and grief is over,
Every restless tossing past,
We are at peace forever,
Safely home in Heaven at last.
Verse 62
One of the best
He was plucked from our lives like a petal from a rose, For what reason, God only knows.
A man of great spirit,
A man of great strength,
A man who could tell you what life really meant,
A man of great humour, who could make you laugh with a joke,
A man of great love, when of his family he spoke,
For whatever God’s reason to call him to rest,
The man we called (Person’s name) was one of the best.
Verse 63
You always had a smile to share,
Time to give and time to care.
Years may pass, tears may dry
But memories of you will never die.
Verse 64
God called your name so softly,
that only you could hear,
No one heard the footsteps,
Of the Angels drawing near,
It broke our hearts to lose you,
But you didn’t go alone,
For parts of us went with you,
That day God called you home,
You knew how much
We loved you, forgive us when we cry,
We can’t get over losing you,
No matter how we try.
Verse 65
Daddy don’t be sad,
Mummy please don’t cry,
Because I’m in the arms of Jesus
and He sings me lullabies.
Verse 66
A tiny flower, lent not given,
To bud on earth and bloom in Heaven.
Baby Verse
Verse 67
The other side of midnight not so many miles away, enwrapped in hazy memories our new born baby play,
tended safe by unknown hands in a place we cannot see,
Our baby lives another life, from earthly cares set free.
From the other side of midnight visits in our sleep,
Caress our grief with infant hands when in our dreams we weep.
Through our darkest days we seem a million miles apart,
In time we learn that the other place is really in our hearts.
The other side of midnight at last we learn to see,
Our baby live within us cradled in our memory.
Verse 68
I’m Free
Don’t grieve for me for now I’m free
I’m following the path
God laid for me.
I took his hand when I heard Him call,
I turned my back and left it all.
I could not stay another day,
To laugh, to love, to work or play,
Tasks left undone must stay that way,
I found that peace at close of day.
If parting has left a void,
Then fill it with remembered joy,
A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss,
Ah yes these things I too will miss.
Be not burdened with times of sorrow,
I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow.
My life’s been full,
I’ve savoured much,
Good friends, good times,
A loved one’s touch.
Perhaps my time seemed all too brief,
Don’t lengthen it now with undue grief.
Lift up your hearts and share with me,
God wanted me now, He set me free
Verse 69
Prayer to Our Lady of Knock
Our Lady of Knock, Queen of Ireland.
You gave hope to your people in a time of distress, and comforted them in sorrow.
I give you all to myself, and, to show my devotion to you,
I consecrate to you my eyes, my ears, my mouth, my heart, my entire self.
Help me to remember that we are all pilgrims on the road to Heaven.
Comfort me when I am sick or lonely or depressed.
Pray for me now, and at the hour of my death.
Amen.
Verse 70
Miss me – but let me go
When I come to the end of the road and the sun is set for me,
I want no rites in a gloom filled room
Why cry for a soul set free?
Miss me a little – but not too long
And not with your head bowed low,
Remember the love that we once shared
Miss me – but let me go
For this is a journey we all must take,
And each must do it alone,
It’s all part of the Master’s plan
a step on the road to home.
When you are lonely and sick of heart
Go to the friends we know,
Bury your sorrows in doing good deeds,
Miss me – but let me go.
